Weather

Weather: The turn of the year brings a discernible improvement in the weather — the days are noticeably brighter and there is a little stretch in the evening. Plants begin to respond to these subtle changes and prepare for the new growing season. The weather can be very variable; on dark days there is no apparent improvement, but on good days the brightness is obvious. Spells of dry weather can occur along with hard frosty spells. Plants often suffer the most severe cold damage during this period. Take advantage of any good spell to make preparations for the new year.
